About Me

I’m a PR student at the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point. I’m currently interning at WFRV-TV, the CBS station out of Green Bay. I had a few internship opportunities I interviewed for but soon found that I still have a LOT to learn. This is what brought me to WFRV for this summer. In this short time,  I’ve already learned that building relationships with the media and learning the art of pitching a story is crucial to being a great PR professional. I’m looking for a more well-rounded education to help my PR studies. I have no idea where I’d like to go in the communication world… but I know I want to be in this field.

If you’re a student and have thought about writing, take a risk. Your writing skills may not be the best but if you put the effort into it, those skills will come around. Don’t be afraid of criticism as most people aren’t giving it to make you feel bad but it’s only to help you. The only way to better yourself is to take risks. Don’t focus on the idea of falling down- all that matters is how you get back up.

The death of Walter Cronkite hit many hard here at the station and it gave me some great advice to live a fulfilling life…. “Focus on not being interesting… focus on being interested.” These are the words of George Clooney when speaking of Walter Cronkite. Try living by those words and I think you’ll see how he became the “most trusted man in America.” The idea behind that quote is probably the greatest lesson I’ve learned over the summer.

Good news.. I’ll be continuing my education with the station in the fall while I’m at school. If there’s anything you’d like to see, please let me know what you’d like to see. I’ll try to examine all aspects of the media over the next few months… but the only way I can ensure that I’m covering everything is if I get feedback from you.

This isn’t just my education, it’s yours too.
